Job description
Protocol Education are currently recruiting for experienced SEN learning support assistants to work in ASD and SEMH schools across Croydon. Due to our growth we have several schools in different locations, so if you are within a commutable distance to this area, we are interested to hear from you. Many of our schools have both Primary and Secondary sites, but if you have a specific preference, we are happy to find you work within that age range.
With your support, you will ensure that each student with Autism and Speech and language needs can access a specialised curriculum to build their skills in independence and communication. In addition, you will work closely with the main teacher to ensure that each student progress to the next level of learning.

Your main duties will include:
·Inspiring and engaging with young adults with physical and mental difficulties.
·Assessing individual learning needs and working on a group basis.
·Preparing materials, equipment and lessons
·Assessing and reporting on individual pupils' progress
·Assisting with the personal care needs of pupils; this may include feeding, changing and manual handling.
·Liaising with parents, carers and professionals such as mainstream teachers, education welfare officers, social workers and Healthcare professionals
·The successful candidates need to have previous experience of working with SEN students and have a strong desire of getting involved in every aspect of the school. Experience with children and young adults that have would be preferable.
