Job description
Protocol Education are currently working closely with primary schools in the Colchester and surrounding areas who are seeking qualified and experienced Learning Support Assistants to work with them on a daily and long term basis.

We are particularly interested in hearing from you if you have worked with pupils with behavioural difficulties and are Team Teach trained or have equivalent restraint training.

Successful candidates will need to have a clear understanding of how children with SEN develop and learn and it would be extremely advantageous if you have experience of working within an SLD/ PMLD/ ASD/ EBD school. It is essential that you have a working knowledge and understanding of curricular needs of pupils with learning difficulties.

You will need to have a flexible attitude and be willing to assist with personal care and medical needs. You must have a commitment to the educational, spiritual, health and moral welfare of children in your care.

The earning potential for roles of this type is between £55-75 per day dependant on experience. The opportunities that Protocol has to offer are extremely flexible; we have day-to-day work, long-term placements and a choice of part-time or full-time roles. We also have the option for you to get paid in a tax-friendly way where you can claim for your travel and food expenses.

All candidates must be able to provide two years' of references.

Please note: We undertake safeguarding checks on all our workers in accordance with the DfE statutory guidance 'Keeping Children Safe in Education'. As part of these checks, we require a current Enhanced DBS Disclosure for everyone working in schools. If you do not have a valid subscription to the DBS Update Service, we will require you to complete a new DBS application as part of the registration process, at a cost of £44.00.
