Job description
Protocol Education are working with an alternative provision based within Kingston Upon Thames , that provides a safe, supportive and stimulating environment where students are encouraged to have high expectations and to take responsibility for their learning and their school community. They are committed to offering a broad and balanced curriculum which currently includes 16 GCSE subjects to allow students a broad choice and develop their interests. Students are also encouraged to develop in other areas with an extensive and inspiring outdoor and activity programme. Supporting their students in developing positive relationships, self-confidence, resilience, creativity and British values is crucial to their ethos.
They are seeking higher level learning support assistant to work with pupils on a 1:1 basis as well as manage a team of LSA's. The pupils who need support range across Primary age and Secondary ages so it is vital that you have experience supporting pupils who have challenging behaviour and autism.

The role:

• 5 days a week, term time only
• 8:30-4:00pm
• Based in the Borough of Kingston
• Working 1:1 with pupils who have challenging behaviour
• Working immediately until Summer 2019

You must have:

• Experience of working with PECs or Makaton
• At least 2 years of working with autism and challenging behaviour
• You must be confident with the SEN code of practice
• Be experienced in EHCP's
• Experience of supporting pupils of a Primary or Secondary aged
• At least one qualification in education
