Protocol Education are currently looking for a Learning Support Assistant to be based in a school in Southwark the school is 5-minute walk away from Peckham Rye Station and is also well connected with local bus routes. This role would suite someone either living in the Lewisham area or Southwark working Monday - Friday 8:30 - 16:00.

The School specialises in children aged 2 - 11 who are committed to providing individualised learning, support and opportunities for pupils with severe learning difficulties, complex needs and autism, and to meeting individual needs.

The ideal candidate will have experience working with children who have Severe Learning Difficulties (SLD), Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties (PMLD) and Autistic Spectrum Conditions (ASC).

Your main duties will include:

• Working 1:1 or in small groups.
• Catering to each students' individual needs.
• Encouraging and supporting students.
• Providing support for teaching staff.
• Preparing materials, equipment and lessons
• Assessing and reporting individual student progress.
• Liaising with parents, carers and professionals such as mainstream teachers and education welfare officers.

Other Experience and desirable qualifications:

• First aid trained
• Team Teach (Protocol Education can provide this training)
