Job description
Protocol Education are currently seeking a dedicated teaching assistant with knowledge of children experiencing Social Emotional Mental Health (SEMH) and complex difficulties, for an ongoing position in an alternative provision in the Darlington area commencing as soon as possible.


You will need to have strong proven behaviour and classroom management and mentoring skills as most students will display severe challenging behaviour.

Successful Candidates will ideally hold the following attributes:
- Experience with students aged between 8-16 years
- A comprehensive understanding of SEMH
- A passion for working with complex difficulties and challenging behaviour
- Available to work on a long term basis

We offer CPD courses on behaviour management and other SEND workshops, including valuable qualifications in Team Teach, attachment theory, de-escalation and introductions to both SEND generally and ASD specifically.
