Job description
A very well established school in South West London borough of Wandsworth are looking for an enthusiastic, committed person with a minimum of BSL Level 2 skills and experience of working with primary and secondary hearing/impaired students. This unique role will be supporting students on a one to one basis both academically and independently.

Duties and responsibilities:

Establish a supportive relationship with the student assigned to.

To support the student's learning, independence and to help them to develop their confidence.

Provide one to one support in school curricular activities.

To support the student throughout the day, ensuring they are safe, not at risk of potential dangers and providing a supportive approach.

To work effectively and professionally with the night manager and understanding the policies and procedures of the home.

As the students have hearing/visual impairments, candidate's MUST be a minimum level two in BSL. Candidates who are not certified in British Sign Language will not be considered for this post.

We undertake safeguarding checks on all our workers in accordance with the DfE statutory guidance Keeping Children Safe in Education'. As part of these checks, we require a current Enhanced DBS Disclosure for everyone working in schools. If you do not have a valid subscription to the DBS Update Service, we will require you to complete a new DBS application as part of the registration process, at a cost of £44.00
