Job description
Protocol Education is currently looking for an experienced Learning Support Assistant to work with a child in EYFS who is diagnsed with ASD at one of our client schools in the London Borough of Barnet.

Our client is seeking an enthusiastic and bubbly individual who stands out above the rest and demonstrates a passion to make a real difference, and aims to help give equal opportunities to all students. You will assist the student in question with the right skills to interact within the community, offer them guidance on their academic development, as well as independence and improvement of their social skills. You will be able to build strong rapport with the student, fellow members of staff and the parents. When necessary, you'll be happy to take own initiative and look outside the box when seeking and take own initiative when needed. You should also be highly professional in every aspect, be self-motivated and able to work with the minimum of supervision.

Your role will involve working with a child in Reception who has been diagonsed with Autism. You will support and facilitate their academic, social and personal development, encourage them to develop their social skills, and help them to use resources to make lessons fun and creative. You will also make sure that the child in question feel safe and comfortable in the school environment.

Essential requirements:
- An undergraduate degree (at least 2:2)
- A minimum of 6 months in a classroom environment in the UK
- Good knowledge of EYFS/KS1 British National Curriculum
- Experience working with children with SEN, particularly ASD, ADHD and/or GDD
- The ability to adapt and prepare resources to suit the needs of the child
- Strong behaviour management
- A UK DBS or willing to undertake one
- 2 excellent references

Though not compulsory, training in Team Teach would be a massive bonus!
