Job description
ASC (Autism) Teaching Assistant Further Education


Location - Westminster

One of London's most recommended colleges is seeking Teaching Assistants to join their team. If you have experience working with children or have experience in special needs then this could be for you.

What support will be provided to a child with special education needs?

The support required will depend upon the needs of the student. Support might consist of:
•In class support.
•1:1 additional lessons with specialist teachers in the disability support team. .
•The guidance of assistive software and technology where appropriate.
•All support measures will be negotiated with the young person and reviewed regularly.
What does the curriculum look like?
All students between 16 and 18 will follow a Study Programme which will consist of the main programme (e.g. BTEC Business), English and Maths and employability Skills.

What training will I receive?
Staff receive training in safeguarding and supporting learners with SEND. In addition you will receive training for the particular needs of a student e.g autism, epilepsy.

We undertake safeguarding checks on all our workers in accordance with the DfE statutory guidance Keeping Children Safe in Education'. As part of these checks, we require a current Enhanced DBS Disclosure for everyone working in schools. If you do not have a valid subscription to the DBS Update Service, we will require you to complete a new DBS application as part of the registration process, at a cost of £44.00
