A innovative Special School is looking for learning support assistants/teaching assistants that have experience using British sign language (BSL Level 2-3)

You will be required to support and help the development of hearing-impaired students across all ages, support academic studies, develop students social and communication skills in a classroom setting.

The school environment caters to students who have a range of needs, including, autism, SEMH, learning difficulties, and speech and language delay. Therefore, experience in working with children who have special needs is preferred, but not essential.

The Role:
-Working from 8am to 4pm, Monday to Friday, during term times.
-Assisting the children in either small groups or on a 1:1 basis.
-Ensuring you are affectively meeting the children's needs.

-Certified in British Sign language (BSL)
-Able to relay BSL from hearing impaired students to non-signing students or adults.
-Excellent strategic & communication skills, the ability to use initiative and that can work well under pressure.
-Positions are subject to an enhance disclosure barred service

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
