I am currently looking for an autism specialist with knowledge, understanding and experience with supporting children with autism in the classroom. If you have experience of supporting in a special needs school or Pupil referral unit and are seeking a new challenge, then this role may be for you.

The specialist school is a small establishment with focus on a maximum of 15 children per classroom, in order to provide that person centered learning experience for the children.
The school prides itself on accessing the community and the students have a lot of access to the outdoors.

·Experience of behaviour that challenges
·To be able to support in the classroom and in the playground
·Person centered care
·Good communication and tone
·To support and engage the children with learning


Makaton and PECS would be an advantage.

5 days long term ongoing and for the right person may become permanent

Experience of autism is essential and qualifications that would be suitable for this role is NVQ level 2 and Level 3 in Health and social care, Teaching assistant Level 2 and Level 3.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
