Job description
Protocol is currently recruiting for experienced teaching assistants to work in an ASD specialist school in South London.

The successful candidates need to have previous experience of working with SEND students and have a strong desire of getting involved in every aspect of the school. Experience with children and young adults that have autism at varying levels on the spectrum would be preferable.

The position will involve:
·Supporting Class teachers to offer a broad-based, appropriate curriculum.
·Assisting with the supervision of students outside of classroom activities e.g. meal times and recreation times.
We are looking for Learning Support Assistants who have:
·An understanding of/interest in autism.
·Experience of working with children or vulnerable adults in an education or care setting.
·An ability to work as part of a team and to use their initiative to support and help pupils who have a range of needs associated with having autism.
·A calm, patient manner and ability to react positively to extreme levels of behavior.
·GCSE Grade C or equivalent in English and Maths.

Other experience and qualifications preferable:
·Confidence in working with and communicating PECs & Makaton.
·Team Teach qualified.

Successful Applicants will be subject to references and an up to date DBS or be willing to apply for a Protocol DBS.
