Job description
Protocol Education is currently recruiting Learning Support Assistants or SEND Teaching Assistants who are experienced or interested in working with children with SEND.

We currently have a wide range of exciting positions available for either day-to-day or long-term supply with students that have PMLD/ SLD/ ASD/ MLD needs.

You may be working either 1:1, or in small groups, with primary students with different SEND needs.

We currently work with a number of primary schools in Hertfordshire who need exceptional and experienced SEN LSAs. You'll be required to work within schools where pupils may have behaviour issues, Autistic Spectrum Disorder (ASD), Attention Deficit Disorder (ADD) and Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties (PMLD) amongst others. Any previous experience in working with SEN is preferable.

Your main duties will include:

• Inspiring and engaging with young adults with physical and mental difficulties.

• Assessing individual learning needs and working on a group basis.

• Preparing materials, equipment and lessons

• Assessing and reporting on individual pupils' progress

• Assisting with the personal care needs of pupils; this may include feeding, changing and manual handling.

• Liaising with parents, carers and professionals such as mainstream teachers, education welfare officers, social workers and Healthcare professionals

Other experience & qualifications desirable:

• Team Teach

• Positive handling

• First Aid trained
