Job description
Tutors and Learning Mentors Wanted

Hackney, Full Time

We are currently looking for tutors and subject specialist to work with students that live within the borough of Hackney. This is a great opportunity for anyone that has a passion for education and is enthusiastic about working with children.

The role requires tutors that are able to work one to one with students outside of school, and offer subject specific tuition to help boost the student’s education. These students are unable to attend school for various reasons; it could be because they have been dismissed from a mainstream school for behavioural reasons or because they might have special needs. Theses tuition lesson can take place in a number of locations such as the student’s home, libraries and sometimes even parks.

This role is perfect for NQT’s that are still waiting to gain QTS or graduates that are considering a career as a teacher. If you have a subject specific degree such as Maths, English, Science, History or another subject that you think would be helpful we would love to hear from you.

Main Duties:

• Supporting students with work set by the class teacher/outreach worker

• Maintaining good behaviour management whilst tutoring

• Liaising with the outreach worker to assess pupils levels and ability

• Ensuring the schools ethos and policies are being implemented

• Liaising with parents and carers
