Job description
SEN LSA – ASD

Location – West London

Salary - £65+ per day

Job Type – Full time

A Special Needs School in West London is seeking to appoint an LSA (Learning Support Assistant) to work amongst a team of committed teaching assistants and specialist ASD Teachers. This position has arisen due to an increase in the student population. All applicants must have recent experience working with children or young adults with special educational needs, in either a secondary school or a specialist SEN environment.

The school caters for pupils from the ages of 4-19 who have a broad range of learning difficulties and complex needs most of which have a form of Autism. Classes have an average of 8 students per class and follow a dynamic and adventurous curriculum.

The ideal candidate would have:

• A proven record of supporting SEN students with a range of needs

• The ability to adapt a lesson plan when it doesn't go accordingly

• Have a basic understanding of PECS and Makaton

• Registered DBS or be prepared to carry out a new DBS application

Your main duties will be;

• Support students with their work

• Manage students behaviour

• Supervising classroom activities

• Report back to Teachers about students work
