A secondary boys school in East London is looking to build up a bank of youth workers to take on roles as educational project workers to aid on a day to day basis with pastoral needs at the unit.
The unit itself caters for challenging youths (11-16 years) who have been excluded from mainstream education. These students can often demonstrate violent language and behaviour therefore you must have a thick skin and resilient attitude. The students respond well to a calm and laid back ethos however it is important for the youth workers to lay down boundaries to attain and maintain mutual respect.
This kind of work is ideal for somebody who has a background as a youth worker or has worked previously in juvenile centres.
The pay rates are negotiable on experience.

• You must have good spoken and written English
• Eligibility to work in the UK
• You must have a minimum of 6 months experience with challenging students
• This position is subject to a current DBS.
