A special needs school in Sevenoaks is currently recruiting for classroom-based carers to join their team on a long-term basis to work with pupils who have special needs including autism. The role is temp-perm after 12 weeks should you be successful.

The school is Primary and Secondary area's and a Residential building within its grounds..

Although care experience with children with complex needs is preferred, experience with adults with challenging behaviour, autism or dementia is also considered. Due to the needs of the children, you must be confident with varying levels of personal care and be happy working with children with different levels of cognitive ability.

To be considered for this role, you must:

- Be available immediately shift work is available

- Have a current enhanced (child or child and adult) DBS on the update service or happy to apply for one through us.

- Have at least three months experience working within a care setting within the last two years (excluding the lockdowns of COVID 19).

- Have experience working with challenging behaviour.

- Be a confident, resilient and calm individual.

Due to the current recruitment needs of the school, applicants must be available immediately pending their clearance so applicants will be automatically unsuccessful unless they can start immediately.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
