Job description
Protocol Education is a specialist provider of classroom based staff to schools and academies in England. We provide our 4,000 clients with the full range of classroom based staff on both a temporary and permanent basis. Additionally, we provide teaching staff to international schools across the globe.

Each year over 11,000 teachers, teaching assistants, SEND specialists, early years, one-to-one tuition staff, and intervention specialists work through Protocol Education on either a full-time or part-time basis to help children meet their education goals. Each one is met face to face by one of our staff and checked to ensure that they meet the DfE safeguarding standards.

Our national network of nearly 50 branches gives us superb local coverage to meet the recruitment needs of schools, while our international offices located in Australia, New Zealand and Canada are able to bring some of the best teaching talent from around the world to the UK.

We provide rewarding career opportunities for our own staff within our branches and support teams, and develop team members through accredited internal training. Our values underpin our actions and act as a touchstone for everyone in the business:
•Integrity and respect - we earn the trust of others every day, and we see the value in every person who comes to us seeking work,
•Commitment and resilience - we don't give up. We'll do everything we can to achieve the right results for our candidates, clients and colleagues,
•Pride and energy - we're proud of the role we play in the world of education and our positive contribution feeds our enthusiasm,
•Teamwork and fun - individuals, all pulling together to make things better. We love to help, and do it with a smile.

The role:
Protocol Education are seeking committed, reliable and passionate teaching assistants in South West London to work in our special needs schools based in the boroughs of Wandsworth, Merton, Sutton, Kingston & Richmond.

Our roles require you to work 1:1 or lead small groups within our primary or secondary SEND schools. If successful, you will be working with a range of disabilities such as autism (ASD), profound multiple learning disabilities (PMLD) or other complex needs. Although these students have special needs, they follow the curriculum and mainly require support academically.

The school strives to meet the diverse and individual needs of its pupils who have special education needs and disabilities. Students with special needs travel from all over London to attend our schools which provide education for those with autism and complex needs. Our schools cater for students aged between 4 -19 years of age; due to the needs of the students our schools like to encourage independence and life skills within the learning.

It is fundamental that any candidate considering this position has prior experience working with students with special educational needs. You will need to demonstrate an enthusiastic and caring attitude to work as you will be required to work in small groups or 1-1 with students.

The school are looking for individuals that are:
• Passionate about working in education
• Experienced working with children with special needs such as ASD, PMLD, SLD or complex needs
• Adaptable, and able to work in a challenging setting
• Interested in working in a different environment
• Committed, resilient and caring

Here at Protocol Education, we strive to ensure that each and every candidate has an opportunity to find their ideal job. For a number of years we are proud to have worked alongside fantastic institutions of learning (Primary, Secondary and SEND) to provide them with high quality teachers and support staff.

We undertake safeguarding checks on all our workers in accordance with the DfE statutory guidance Keeping Children Safe in Education. As part of these checks, we require a current Enhanced DBS Disclosure for everyone working in schools. If you do not have a valid subscription to the DBS Update Service, we will require you to complete a new DBS application as part of the registration process.

We offer interview training free workshops that we can run once a month.

The course last week was fantastic! It was really interesting to find out from different points of view and different approaches and strategies. I have to say though that the Mindfulness was amazing. From the way the workshop was delivered to the techniques used. It has made me want to explore it further, both personally and professionally.

I just wanted to thank you for a really enjoyable and thought provoking day yesterday. The speakers were excellent and I was able to take away some ideas to help me in my present class. Please extend my gratitude to the speakers who gave loads of practical tips and helpful research and background information to help get to the roots of challenging behaviour.
If you have the skills and are interested in an SEN position then please call Patrick O'Driscoll on 02089711296.
