Protocol Education are recruiting on behalf of an inclusive school in Kingswood seeking dedicated SEN Teaching Assistants to support pupils with additional learning needs.

What You'll Be Doing

No two days are the same as an SEN Teaching Assistant. You may find yourself:

  • Supporting a pupil with autism to engage successfully in classroom activities.
  • Helping students develop communication, social, and emotional skills.
  • Delivering targeted intervention sessions under the guidance of teaching staff.
  • Using visual aids, sensory resources, and structured routines to support learning.
  • Encouraging independence and celebrating individual achievements.
  • Assisting pupils during lessons, breaktimes, and transitions throughout the school day.
  • Helping create a calm, positive, and inclusive learning environment.

About the School

Our partner school caters for pupils aged 3-11 with a range of special educational needs, including Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC), communication and interaction difficulties, and moderate learning needs. The school is based in Kingswood.

What We're Looking For

Successful candidates will typically have:

  • A genuine passion for supporting children with additional needs.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Patience, empathy, and a positive attitude.
  • The ability to build trust and positive relationships with pupils.
  • Experience in education, childcare, care work, support work, youth services, or similar fields (desirable but not essential).
  • A willingness to learn and develop within a specialist educational environment.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
