Protocol Education are looking to appoint a Special Educational Needs and/or Disabilities (SEND) Teaching Assistant (TA) to join our supply teaching team.

Primary schools are currently open to SEND children and several Schools are looking to Protocol Education to help them find staff on a flexible basis to assist with the new challenges they are facing. With many Teachers currently delivering on-line lessons both in-school and on-line to non-SEND/key worker children, this has led to a demand for Teaching Assistants with SEND experience to help within the schools

In addition to this, the expected opening of Schools on 8th March, is likely to create a huge surge in the demand for Teaching Assistants as schools look to enable pupils to catch up from missed class room time. Previous experience tells us that the demand for TA's with SEND experience is likely to be especially high.

SEND TA's play an important role in assisting Teachers to support students with special educational needs who have significant care needs. They are allocated to the school and work under the direction of the Principal/Teachers. You will be supporting pupils on a 1:1 basis. Depending upon the school, you could be working with children aged 4 to 11.

·Days can be booked in advance or the day with days that you hadn't previously anticipated being free.

What you'll need to succeed:
·You will have a minimum of 1 years' experience supporting pupils with Special and Medical Needs
·You will have a minimum of 1 years' experience working in a primary school
·You will have Key Subject and Curriculum knowledge across either Key Stage 1 (KS1) or Key Stage 2 (KS2)
