SEN Support Jobs Special Needs

Are you a Dance, Drama or Acting graduate who’s ready to use your creativity for something bigger?

Do you believe every child deserves to feel confident, understood and heard?

We’re working with a specialist SEN setting looking for a vibrant, emotionally intelligent SEN Teaching Assistant to bring energy, warmth and consistency into their classrooms.

This isn’t about standing at the front and delivering lines. It’s about using movement, role play and creativity to help young people with additional needs communicate, regulate and thrive.

What you’ll be doing

• Supporting pupils with ASD, ADHD and SEMH needs
• Using creative approaches to engage and inspire learners
• Helping children develop confidence, communication and emotional awareness
• Providing calm, consistent support in moments that matter
• Working closely with teachers and SEN professionals to create an inclusive environment

Every day will look slightly different. Some days you’ll be using drama to explore emotions. Other days you’ll be helping a pupil regulate through movement. You’ll need resilience, patience and the ability to think on your feet, but the reward is huge.

We’re looking for someone who:

• Has a background in Dance, Drama, Acting or Performing Arts
• Is naturally expressive and emotionally intelligent
• Builds quick, authentic relationships with young people
• Is confident supporting behaviour positively and calmly
• Has experience working with children or young people, whether through workshops, performances or community projects
• Genuinely believes in inclusion

You don’t need years of classroom experience. You do need heart, adaptability and the confidence to bring your whole self into the role.

Why this role?

Because creativity changes lives.

For many pupils in SEN settings, traditional approaches don’t always land. Your ability to connect, express and engage could be the difference between a child shutting down or stepping forward.

If you’re ready to use your creative background in a way that truly matters, we’d love to hear from you.

Apply today and let’s help every child find their voice.

All applicants will require the appropriate qualifications and training for this role. Please see the FAQs on the Protocol Education website for further details.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.

Protocol Education is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children. We undertake safeguarding checks on all workers in accordance with the DfE statutory guidance ‘Keeping Children Safe in Education’, this may also include an online search as part of our due diligence on shortlisted applicants.
