Protocol Education are currently recruiting for a SEN Teaching Assistant to work within a primary school in Barking. This is a great opportunity for someone with a strong understanding of SEN who enjoys helping pupils overcome barriers to learning.

The successful candidate will support pupils with a range of additional needs, both within the classroom and through 1:1 or small-group support, depending on the requirements of the school.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Providing dedicated support to pupils with a range of SEN needs.
• Working 1:1 and with small groups to help pupils engage with learning.
• Supporting pupils with their communication, social development and emotional wellbeing.
• Assisting the class teacher with activities and adapting support to meet individual needs.
• Helping pupils develop their confidence, independence and positive behaviour.
• Building strong and positive relationships with pupils and staff.

The ideal candidate will have:

• Previous experience working with children with SEN.
• A patient, nurturing and supportive approach.
• The ability to adapt to different pupils and their individual needs.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
• A relevant Teaching Assistant qualification is desirable, but experience within SEN will be considered.
