SEN Teaching Assistant

I am currently working with a Primary schools in Trowbridge who are looking to appoint SEN Teaching Assistants, ideally with experience of working with children with Behavioural Needs, ASD and SEMH needs.

The apppointed Teaching Assistant will be working primarily 1 to 1 with children who have EHCPs. The successful candidate will also be expected to support the classsroom teacher by working with small groups of children. Experience leading intervention groups is essentials.

The role will also involve supporting individual children during break times and lunch times. The successful individuals will support Class Teachers in the teaching and welfare of the assigned individual, ensuring they attain the targets set. Dealing with the behavioural, communication, social and emotional development of the children is integral to this role.

• Able to develop an understanding of the educational, welfare and social needs of the child with whom you are supporting
• Able to stay calm and objective when presented with unusual or challenging behaviour

• Able to relate exceptionally well with children and to go that extra mile to help them achieve
• Experienced of Primary School environments
