A school in the Leeds area are looking to recruit a number an SEN Teaching Assistant to join there welcoming team. The school are looking for staff to support Primary aged pupils with autism. It is a highly rewarding environment to work in with the support from an excellent team.
The position involves supporting SEN needs within the school, the role would include supporting pupils with Autism (ASC), managing their behaviour and monitoring their progress. They would expect the successful individual to be able to use their initiative well in these situations and know when to intervene and diffuse effectively.
Responsibilities and requirements for this role:
- Handle challenging behaviours and de-escalate situations
- Support students in their personal and educational development
- Build rapport with the students
- Use an innovative approach to learning
- Be a role model to the students
- Have experience working with students with ASC
- Have a nurturing and patient personality
- Be able to confidently handle challenging behaviours

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
