We are looking to recruit a SEND Teaching Assistant with experience to assist the SEND department within fantastic secondary schools in South London.

In the role of a SEND Teaching Assistant, you will be expected to support your key pupils throughout the school day. Under the direction of the SENCO, who will support their Teaching Assistants in delivering outstanding support to their key students. The team you will be working with are supported by medically trained professionals who will support you in your role. The team would like someone who is proactive and will take a hands-on approach.

You will be required to support both the teaching and support staff effectively within your department. As well as co-operating with parents or carers, students, and external agencies and ensuring safeguarding laws are always adhered to.

The ideal candidate

• Experience in working with children who have SEND (Essential)

• An understanding that you may be asked to handle matters such as personal care (Essential)

• The capacity to form honest working relationships with students, parents or carers and colleagues alike

• You must have good oral and written communicative skills

• Good organisational and time management skills

• To be adaptable and flexible and show that you have a patient and caring approach to the work you do

• To understand that you must be a good role model for students and colleagues alike

• Secondary school with outstanding professional development

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
