The Role

Depending on your experience, you may be supporting pupils:

• 1:1 or in small intervention groups.
• With classroom learning and daily routines.
• With literacy, numeracy and wider curriculum activities.
• With Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND).
• With social, emotional and behavioural development.
• With Autism (ASC), ADHD, SEMH, MLD, PMLD and communication needs.
• To develop confidence, independence and positive learning behaviours.
• By adapting learning resources to meet individual needs.
• Alongside teachers, SENCOs and wider support teams.
• Within a safe, nurturing and inclusive learning environment.

Requirements

• Previous experience as a SEN Teaching Assistant, Teaching Assistant, Learning Support Assistant (LSA), Support Worker or similar is desirable.
• Experience working with children or young people within the UK.
• SEND experience is highly desirable, particularly supporting pupils with Autism, ADHD or SEMH needs.
• A patient, caring and adaptable approach.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to build positive relationships with pupils, staff and families.
• A commitment to supporting pupil wellbeing and progress.
• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service is desirable but not essential.
