SEN Teaching Assistant – Bristol

Are you an experienced SEN Teaching Assistant passionate about supporting children and young people with additional needs? Protocol Education is working with a range of primary, secondary and specialist SEND schools across Bristol, offering immediate and ongoing opportunities.

We are looking for caring, patient and resilient SEN Teaching Assistants who can provide high-quality support and help pupils build confidence, independence and positive learning experiences.

The Role

• Provide 1:1 and small-group support to pupils with additional needs.
• Support pupils with Autism, ADHD, SEMH, MLD, communication and interaction needs and other SEND.
• Assist pupils with accessing the curriculum and completing learning activities.
• Implement individual learning, behaviour and support strategies.
• Support pupils' social, emotional and communication development.
• Encourage confidence, independence and positive behaviour.
• Assist teachers with classroom activities and preparation of resources.
• Work closely with teachers, SENCOs and other support staff.
• Help create a safe, inclusive and supportive learning environment.

Requirements

• Minimum 6 months' relevant UK experience as an SEN TA, Teaching Assistant, LSA or in a similar support role.
• Previous experience working with children or young people with SEND is highly desirable.
• Understanding of individual learning and behavioural needs.
• Patient, compassionate and resilient approach.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to adapt support to meet individual pupil needs.
• Reliable, professional and committed to pupil development.
• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service is desirable but not essential.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
