SEN Teaching Assistant – Bristol | Full-Time | September Start

Are you an experienced SEN Teaching Assistant looking for a rewarding full-time role this September?

Protocol Education is recruiting dedicated and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistants to work in specialist SEND schools across Bristol. This is a full-time role starting in September, supporting children and young people with a range of additional needs.

This opportunity is ideal for candidates who have a genuine passion for supporting pupils with Special Educational Needs and are committed to helping every child reach their full potential.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Providing 1:1 and small group support for pupils with SEND.
  • Supporting children with Autism (ASC), ADHD, SEMH, PMLD, MLD, SLD, and complex learning needs.
  • Assisting with classroom activities and adapting learning to meet individual needs.
  • Encouraging pupils' independence, confidence, and social development.
  • Implementing behaviour support strategies and promoting positive outcomes.
  • Working closely with teachers, therapists, and other professionals to support each pupil's learning journey.

Essential requirements:

  • A minimum of 1 year's experience supporting children or young people with SEND is essential.
  • Experience working in a specialist SEND school, mainstream school, or similar educational setting.
  • A good understanding of Autism, SEMH, ADHD, PMLD, MLD, SLD, or other additional needs.
  • Excellent communication, patience, and behaviour management skills.
  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to apply.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
