SEN Teaching Assistant

We are currently recruiting for a dedicated and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming school in Sunderland.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who is passionate about supporting children with additional needs and wants to develop their experience within a specialist education setting.

As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with the class teacher and wider support team to provide individual and small-group support. You will help pupils access their learning, develop their independence and build positive relationships within school.

The successful candidate will:

• Have previous experience working with children or young people
• Ideally have experience supporting pupils with SEN
• Be patient, nurturing and adaptable
• Have strong communication and behaviour management skills
• Be confident supporting pupils on a 1:1 and small-group basis
• Be committed to creating a positive and inclusive learning environment

Working hours:

• Monday–Friday
• 8:30am–4:30pm
• Full-time position

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
