SEN Teaching Assistant (1:1 Support – Challenging Behaviour)

Location: Bradford, West Yorkshire

Position: Full-Time SEN Teaching Assistant (1:1 Support)

Salary: Competitive, dependent on experience

We are seeking a dedicated and resilient SEN Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming primary school in Bradford. The successful candidate will provide one-to-one support for pupils with Special Educational Needs (SEN) and challenging behaviour, helping them to access learning and achieve their full potential.

Key responsibilities:

  • Provide tailored 1:1 support for pupils with SEN, including autism, ADHD and social, emotional and mental health (SEMH) needs.
  • Implement behaviour management strategies and support plans.
  • Build positive relationships with pupils, staff and parents.
  • Encourage emotional regulation and promote positive behaviour.
  • Support pupils both inside and outside the classroom.
  • Work closely with teachers and external professionals to ensure pupils receive the best possible support.

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Previous experience working with children with SEN and challenging behaviour.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Patience, empathy and resilience.
  • The ability to remain calm under pressure.
  • Relevant qualifications or experience within education, care or support settings.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
