We're working with a number of specialist SEND schools across Sunderland who are looking for caring and enthusiastic Teaching Assistants to join their teams this September. These schools support children and young people with a range of additional needs, including Autism, ADHD, speech and language needs, complex learning difficulties and physical disabilities.

No two days are ever the same, but every day is rewarding.

What you'll be doing

  • Supporting pupils on a 1:1 basis and in small groups
  • Helping pupils access learning in a way that works for them
  • Encouraging confidence, independence and social development
  • Working closely with teachers, therapists and other professionals
  • Creating a positive, safe and inclusive learning environment

We'd love to hear from you if you:

  • Have experience working with children, young people or vulnerable adults
  • Are patient, caring and able to build positive relationships
  • Enjoy working as part of a supportive team
  • Have an Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or are happy to apply for one
  • Are available to work full-time from September

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
