SEN Teaching Assistant – Huddersfield

We are currently recruiting compassionate, patient, and dedicated SEN Teaching Assistants to support schools and specialist provisions across Huddersfield.

This is a rewarding opportunity for individuals who are passionate about supporting children and young people with additional educational needs and helping them reach their full potential in a safe and inclusive learning environment.

Job Description:

As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with teaching staff and SENCOs to provide tailored support to students with a range of special educational needs, including:

  • Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC)
  • ADHD
  • Speech & Language Needs
  • Social, Emotional & Mental Health (SEMH)
  • Moderate Learning Difficulties (MLD)
  • Behavioural needs

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Providing one-to-one and small group support
  • Supporting students inside and outside of the classroom
  • Assisting with differentiated learning activities
  • Encouraging positive behaviour and emotional regulation
  • Building strong, supportive relationships with students
  • Supporting students with communication, social interaction, and engagement
  • Working collaboratively with teachers, SENCOs, and pastoral teams
  • Promoting safeguarding, wellbeing, and inclusion at all times

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
