SEN Teaching Assistant

Some children don’t need louder voices, they need someone who understands them.

This Sunderland SEN setting is looking for a Teaching Assistant who can build trust, create consistency, and help pupils feel safe enough to learn.

What you’ll be doing

• Supporting pupils with EHCPs, ensuring strategies are followed and adapted where needed
• Working 1:1 and in small groups with children with autism and additional needs
• Helping regulate behaviour through calm, consistent support
• Collaborating with teachers and therapists to deliver joined-up support

Daily check-ins, shared ideas, and everyone pulling in the same direction. You’re never left to figure things out on your own.

Who is this role for

• Someone patient, calm and naturally supportive
• Experience with SEN or a strong interest in this area
• Someone who values routine, consistency and teamwork

You’ll be the person that makes a child’s day feel manageable, and that’s everything.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
