A specialist SEN school near Peterlee is looking for a Teaching Assistant to support pupils with Autism Spectrum Condition, complex communication needs and moderate to severe learning difficulties.
The school follows a person-centred approach, recognising that every pupil learns differently and requires personalised support to achieve their potential.
You will work closely with teaching staff to support pupils during the school day.
Your responsibilities will include:
• Supporting pupils during lessons and practical learning activities
• Assisting pupils who may experience sensory sensitivities or anxiety
• Encouraging communication using visual supports and structured routines
• Supporting pupils with emotional regulation and engagement
• Helping create a calm and supportive classroom environment
We are keen to hear from people who:

Experience with SEN or care settings is beneficial but not essential.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
