A specialist secondary provision in Peterlee is seeking a full-time SEN TA to support pupils aged 11–16 with SEMH needs.

The Role

• In-class GCSE support
• Small group intervention
• Restorative behaviour conversations
• Structured social supervision

Environment

• Small classes
• Calm corridors
• High staff presence
• Clear expectations

Students leave at 2:30pm. Staff remain until 4:30pm for admin and reports.

Behaviour & Boundaries

• Low-level swearing redirected
• Verbal abuse not tolerated
• Rare physical incidents managed through de-escalation

Experience & Pay

Behaviour or youth work experience desirable.

Trainee scale considered for strong candidates.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
