Job description
Experienced PMLD/SEN Teacher Required

Do you have a passion teaching students with SEN? Are you an experienced SEN teacher living in Hertfordshire? Are you looking for a new role in September?

Protocol are looking for experienced teachers that specialise or are highly experienced working with children with special needs, particularly profound multiple learning difficulties (PMLD) and cognitive and physical disabilities.

The role will require leading, delivering and coordinating lessons and curriculum to students that have PMLD and significant communication difficulties. You will need to be committed to ensuring pupils make good progress and encourage pupils to reach their potential through engaging and stimulating teaching. You will be supported by a class LSA and your class will hold around 6 students of mixed ages.


Your main duties would include:

• Inspiring and engaging with children or young adults with profound & multiple learning difficulties.
• Assessing individual learning needs and working on a group basis.
• Assessing and reporting on individual pupils' progress.

As a SEN teacher successful candidates will need the following skills and qualifications:

• QTS or a UK recognised teaching qualification teaching at a secondary level.
• To be able to differentiate work to students depending on their need and abilities.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to communicate with other staff members.
• The ability to use initiative and works well under pressure.
• Have recent experience teaching SEN students.
