September 2019 Start
My client is an outstanding SEN school based in Lewisham. They are currently looking for an SEN/Secondary teacher to cover one of their teachers who will be going on maternity leave in July. The role will be based with the same class with most subjects as the class are complex with lower ability.

The school are a successful special school for children with complex needs including autism. This success was highlighted in their last Ofsted report which was graded OUSTANDING. The school is a well reputable SEN school in the Lewisham area, known for a friendly/upbeat atmosphere.

To apply for this position you MUST be a qualified teacher with some SEN experience.

The school are ideally looking for a candidate with the following:

• The ability to be a team player and direct teaching assistants
• The ability to use a wide range of communication techniques (Symbols, Signalong etc)
• Good organisational skills
• The ability to differentiate work for a range of learning needs and abilities
• A highly structured approach to teaching suited to the needs of pupils with ASD with complex needs
• A passion for teaching pupils with SEN
• A good and resilient personality

The position will be initially for 2 terms but may well be extended to the end of the academic year.
