An 'Good' SEN primary school in the New Addington/Croydon area is looking for a KS2 teacher to join their team due to an increase of head count.

The School
The School caters for children aged 3 - 11 with Autism, Social Communication Difficulties, speech and language needs and associated behaviours. The School is happy environment were children with Autism learn, thrive and achieve. The School currently has 26 classes with a capacity for 190 children.

The school has a strong commitment to developing the skills and knowledge of those who work with us, supporting families, carers and the wider school community. The School is a welcoming environment that values teamwork and supporting each other. New staff are well supported and encouraged to develop new skills.

We have an exciting opportunity for an outstanding teacher to join a dynamic and forward-thinking special school. The position would suit a specialist SEN teacher, or a teacher with a particular interest or experience in special needs. The curriculum model requires teaching staff to deliver across a range of subject areas, so no particular subject specialism is essential, but for this particular class group it would be beneficial to have and understanding on the National Curriculum for year 1 and 2.

Requirements for this role:
  • QTS Certificate or equivalent
  • Experience supporting children with Special Educational Needs (Autism, ADHD, Social Communication Difficulties and challenging behaviours)
  • Team Teach would be an advantage
  • PECS
  • Makaton would be an advantage
