Do you want to teach in a setting where your compassion is as important as your curriculum knowledge?
We are seeking a nurturing and reflective teacher to join a specialist primary SEN provision in Durham. This post is suitable for mainstream teachers who are keen to move into SEN and develop expertise in supporting vulnerable children.
You will teach pupils with a range of additional needs, including social, emotional, behavioural, and communication difficulties. Many pupils use behaviour to express unmet needs, and your calm, therapeutic approach will help them thrive.
You will be responsible for:
Planning personalised learning programmes
Supporting pupils with emotional and behavioural challenges
Creating a safe, structured, and nurturing classroom
Working with families, therapists, and support staff
Contributing to whole-team approaches for inclusion and wellbeing
We are looking for a teacher who is emotionally intelligent, adaptable, and committed to safeguarding and inclusion.
This role offers specialist training, mentoring, and the opportunity to make a lasting difference in children’s lives. If you are passionate about transforming education for vulnerable pupils, we encourage you to apply.
All applicants will require the appropriate qualifications and training for this role. Please see the FAQs on the Protocol Education website for further details.
