Protocol Education are recruiting an SEN Teacher to join a specialist school in the Sunderland area supporting pupils with complex learning difficulties and additional needs.

Pupils attending the school have a range of needs including Severe Learning Difficulties (SLD), Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC), sensory needs and communication challenges. The school focuses on providing a personalised curriculum that supports both academic development and life skills.

Teachers are supported by experienced Teaching Assistants, therapists and pastoral staff to ensure pupils receive the highest level of care and support.

Responsibilities within the role include:

• Delivering engaging and accessible lessons for pupils with additional needs
• Creating a supportive and inclusive classroom environment
• Supporting pupils with communication and sensory regulation
• Working collaboratively with Teaching Assistants and specialist professionals
• Tracking progress and contributing to EHCP reviews

The school is seeking a teacher who is compassionate, adaptable and committed to inclusive education.

Applicants must hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).

Candidates should ideally have a DBS on the Update Service, or be willing to apply for a new DBS through Protocol Education.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
