SEN Teacher – SEN Schools & PRUs | Teesside
Immediate start available (once references and clearance are sorted)

If you’re a SEN teacher who just gets it — the patience, the small wins, the moments that really matter — this one’s for you.

We’re working with SEN schools and Pupil Referral Units across Darlington looking for teachers who can create calm, consistent, and engaging learning environments for pupils who need a different approach.

What’s the role?

You’ll be leading learning in a specialist setting, supporting pupils with a range of additional needs and helping them build confidence, routine, and progress at their own pace.

Your day might include:

  • Teaching pupils with ASD, ADHD, SEMH, Autism or PMLD
  • Adapting lessons to meet individual learning needs
  • Managing behaviour with a calm, consistent approach
  • Working closely with support staff, SENCOs, and external professionals

Whether you're in a SEN school or PRU, your impact will be felt straight away.

What’s in it for you?

✔ Immediate start, no long waiting around
✔ Supportive settings that understand SEN properly
✔ Weekly PAYE pay, no umbrella faff
✔ Free access to our CPD Academy
✔ A consultant who listens and keeps things straightforward

What you’ll need

  • QTS or a recognised SEN teaching qualification
  • Experience teaching in a SEN school or PRU setting
  • Confidence supporting pupils with complex needs and challenging behaviours
  • A calm, resilient, and adaptable teaching style
  • An enhanced DBS on the Update Service (essential)
  • References ready for clearance

A quick heads-up

Not Thrive trained yet? It’s a great addition, especially in SEN settings, and we offer it free. It can really strengthen your profile with schools.

Not quite the right timing?
