Temp to Perm Opportunity | September Start

We are seeking a passionate and dedicated SEN Teacher to join a specialist secondary provision from September on a temp-to-perm basis. This is a fantastic and unique opportunity for an enthusiastic educator who is committed to helping young people with additional needs achieve excellent academic, personal and social outcomes.

The role will involve teaching small class groups within a highly supportive environment, allowing you to build strong relationships and deliver personalised learning tailored to individual student needs.

A unique aspect of this role is the opportunity to work within a farm-based educational setting, supporting students through practical, therapeutic and hands-on learning experiences. Candidates with animal care experience or a genuine interest in animal-based education are highly encouraged to apply.

This specialist provision delivers high-quality therapeutic education for young people who require additional connection, support and specialist school placement. The setting supports students who may currently be out of education, require respite from mainstream settings, or need enhanced support to access learning, including those with Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs). Learning is delivered through a therapeutic, thematic and project-based curriculum focused on both academic progress and personal development.

The Role

• Deliver engaging and differentiated lessons to secondary-aged students with SEN
• Support learners with a range of additional needs within small class settings
• Work collaboratively with support staff and wider professionals
• Lead or contribute to projects across the provision, including practical and outdoor learning initiatives
• Support learning opportunities linked to the farm facility and animal care environment
• Create a positive, structured and nurturing learning environment
• Monitor student progress and adapt teaching approaches accordingly

Requirements

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS/QTLS) or equivalent
• Previous SEN teaching experience is essential
• Experience in animal care, outdoor education or farm-based learning is desirable
• Experience leading projects
• Strong behaviour management and relationship-building skills
• A patient, calm, resilient and adaptable approach
• Passion for inclusive education and personalised learning

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
