Protocol Education are recruiting an SEN Teacher for a specialist school in Sunderland supporting pupils with speech, language and communication needs (SLCN) alongside autism and learning difficulties.

The school focuses on supporting pupils to develop communication skills, confidence and independence, using a variety of structured teaching strategies and specialist communication methods.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Planning lessons that support communication development and engagement
• Using visual supports and structured teaching strategies
• Supporting pupils with social interaction and emotional development
• Working closely with speech and language therapists and support staff
• Tracking pupil progress and adapting teaching strategies

Applicants must hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).

Candidates should have a DBS on the Update Service, or be willing to apply for a DBS through Protocol Education.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
