Job description
Protocol Education are currently working with a number of SEN schools who are looking to appoint SEN Teaching Assistants for a variety of day-to-day, short term and long term posts within SEN schools in the Surrey region.

We are looking for SEN Teaching Assistants/LSAs who are passionate about the provision of teaching for children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities to:

• helping with schoolwork under the supervision of the teacher

• preparing learning materials

• help pupils to develop their self-confidence, independence and abilities

• supporting children during social activities and outings

• helping children during therapy sessions

• recognising when children are upset and comforting them

• looking after children's physical needs

• giving information and help to teachers

• keeping records

Desired skills and qualities are:

• Have knowledge/interest and experience working with Autism/ASD, ADHD, EBD, SLD, PMLD

• excellent behaviour management skills

• proven track record of excellent teaching

• excellent interpersonal skills

• -excellent communication skills

• literacy and numeracy skills

• tact and sensitivity

• the ability to deal with challenging behaviour
