Job description
A primary school in the West area of Surrey are looking to appoint an SEN Teaching Assistant for a long-term position.

The school are looking for a SEN Teaching Assistants/LSAs who is passionate about the provision of teaching for children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities to:

• help with schoolwork under the supervision of the teacher

• prepare learning materials

• help pupils to develop their self-confidence, independence and abilities

• support children during social activities and outings

• help children during therapy sessions

• looking after children's physical needs

• giving information and help to teachers

• keeping records

Desired skills and qualities are:

• have knowledge/interest and experience working with Special Needs

• excellent behaviour management skills

• proven track record of excellent teaching

• excellent interpersonal skills

• -excellent communication skills

• literacy and numeracy skills

• tact and sensitivity

• the ability to deal with challenging behaviour
