We’re looking for a patient and grounded SEN Teaching Assistant to support pupils with autism and complex communication needs in a specialist setting in Sunderland.

The role

You’ll support pupils across a structured school day, helping them transition between activities, engage with learning, and develop independence.

What you’ll be doing

Supporting pupils with autism and communication needs
Using visual timetables and consistent routines
Encouraging emotional regulation and positive engagement
Working closely with teaching staff and specialists

About you

Calm, consistent, and emotionally intelligent
Experience with SEN, or a genuine passion to learn
Able to build trust, even on the tough days
A steady presence pupils can rely on

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
