Are you an experienced SEND Teaching Assistant with experience of working with primary or secondary pupils in the PMLD / ASD / Complex Needs sector? Protocol Education want to hear from you!

Protocol Education have a vacancy for a SEND Teaching Assistant at a well respected specialist school in Middlesbrough working with children with PMLD aged 4 to 19. The pupils have very complex needs and many are non-verbal and require peg feeding and personal care.

This fantastic specialist school uses a range of innovative teaching methods to help their students make the most of their learning and sensory experience. It's large and well resourced school with a fantastic atmosphere upon entering the grounds.

The position is general in-class support - you may be expected to work one to one, in small groups or providing general in-class support as required. Experience of working with children with PMLD is essential and you will be expected to do personal care as well as manual handling. Many of the children are non verbal and the ability to use Makaton and PECS would be highly advantageous.
