A Sunderland school is recruiting for a mental health support worker.

This is a full time position (term time only) to begin ASAP. You will be required to work until at least July 2023.

You will be working in a Sunderland school to support children with ASD/Social, emotional, mental health needs (SEMH)/complex learning disabilities. All children you work with will be aged between 11-16 and have an educational, health and care plan (EHCP).

The school will consider individuals from a range of backgrounds for the role of mental health support worker. This includes graduates interested in a career in teaching or educational psychology and individuals who have experience of working with Special Educational Needs and challenging behaviour. The role might be suitable for former police (with experience of working in non-uniform positions) and youth workers.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
