Location: Bromley

Industry: SEN Teacher
Reference: PE11271055
Salary: £60 - £75 per day
Job Published: 10 days ago
A specialist college that caters to children with visual impairment in the Bromley borough is looking for teaching assistants to join their team to work with children who are visually impaired. Your main objective is to help them access a mainstream curriculum so although the children do have SEN needs it is important that you able to support them access a mainstream education.

Although it would be preferred, the school aren't necessarily looking for someone who has had years of experience working in a classroom with students with special needs. Someone who understands the needs and is comfortable working and supporting students with autism is what they value the most so if you have a background in support work and want to get into a classroom environment this the perfect role for you.

This role will be long-term with a view to become permanent as this school does tend to recruit familiar faces when they have allocation to hire new people.

Your main duties will be;

• Support students with their work
• Manage/develop students behaviour
• Supervising classroom activities
• Report back to teachers about students work

Due to the nature of a special school, there are aspects of personal care involved so only apply for this role if you are open to supporting pupils to be clean and safe as well as to learn.

If this role is of interest to you, please feel free to contact Amy at Protocol Education on 0208 971 1284 for further information. Alternatively, please send an updated CV to amy.webb@protocol-education.com and I will give you a call if I think the role is suitable for you.
