This is a full-time SEN Learning Support Assistant role, supporting a primary-aged pupil on a 1:1 basis, helping them feel safe, understood, and ready to learn.

This isn’t just classroom support. It’s about building trust, celebrating small wins, and being that steady, calm presence a child can rely on.

What makes this school special?

You’ll be joining a setting where:

  • Every child is valued and supported to thrive, both emotionally and academically
  • A strong culture of kindness and respect runs through daily school life
  • Inclusion isn’t a buzzword, it’s lived and breathed across the school
  • Pupils are encouraged to build independence, resilience, and confidence in themselves
  • Staff create a calm, structured environment with clear routines and emotional support strategies

Think supportive team, positive behaviour approaches, and a real “we’ve got this together” feel.

You’ll be working 1:1 with a pupil who needs a bit of extra support to access learning and navigate the school day.

Day to day, you’ll:

  • Provide tailored 1:1 support in and out of the classroom
  • Use patience, empathy, and consistency to build a strong relationship
  • Support emotional regulation and wellbeing using structured approaches
  • Work closely with the class teacher and SENCO to adapt learning
  • Help create a safe, predictable environment where your pupil can thrive

What we’re looking for

  • Experience supporting children with SEN, ideally in a primary setting
  • A calm, nurturing approach, you’re the steady hand in the room
  • Confidence supporting behaviour and emotional needs
  • A genuine passion for helping children feel seen, heard, and supported

Bonus points if you’re Thrive trained
Not got it yet? No stress, we can help you get there with our free training, it’s a real game-changer in SEN settings.

What’s in it for you?

  • £14.25 per hour, paid weekly via PAYE
  • Full-time, consistent work in a supportive school
  • Access to free CPD, including Thrive training
  • A role where you’ll see the impact of your work every single day
