SEN Support Assistant

We’re working with a number of mainstream primary schools across Lewisham with dedicated SEN units, and they’re looking for SEN Support Assistants who can bring patience, consistency, and a calm approach to support pupils who need a little extra help to thrive.

What the role looks like

• Supporting pupils within specialist SEN units inside mainstream schools
• Providing 1:1 and small group support tailored to individual needs
• Helping pupils with autism, ADHD, and additional learning needs access the curriculum
• Working closely with teachers, SENCOs, and therapists
• Creating a safe, structured, and positive learning environment

Every day is different, but the impact you make is constant.

• Experience working with children or young people with SEND
• A calm, patient, and understanding approach
• Confidence in managing behaviour in a supportive, consistent way
• Someone who can build trust and strong relationships over time
• A genuine passion for helping every child feel seen and supported

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
